A night at the opera is an entertainment experience like no other. The thrilling power of a live classical orchestra paired with the raw drama of the unamplified human voice. Magnificent music, stunning sets, and sumptuous costumes. Stories are both classic and contemporary, hilarious and heartbreaking, fun and thought-provoking… there’s an opera for every taste.
Dress up or dress down --- you’ll fit right in either way! You’ll be in the know with a free pre-show lecture one hour before curtain, a free program book, and supertitles in English and Spanish projected above the stage. They perform in two locations: the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami and the Broward Performing Arts Center in Fort Lauderdale. In addition, free shuttle buses between the two cities are available for select performances.
As Florida’s oldest performing arts organization, FGO offers an unparalleled opportunity to escape into a larger-than-life reality and to see, feel, and hear the world through the lens of a classic yet ever-evolving art form.
