Insider Info

Every first and third Saturday of the month from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, the Coconut Grove BID and Royal Palm Tours of Miami offer free bicycle tours through the historic sites and shady lanes of Coconut Grove with local historian and bike enthusiast Frank Schena.

The Coconut Grove BID has teamed up with local yoga sanctuary, Dharma Studio, to bring free community yoga classes to Peacock Park every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Coconut Grove is now a stop on the City of Miami’s Trolley. Rides are complimentary and run from 6:30 AM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, and from 8:00 AM through 8:00 PM on Sundays.

Fun Facts

Coconut Grove is Miami's oldest and most original neighborhood. It was founded in 1873 by an eclectic mix of pioneers, artists, intellectuals, and adventurers.

Locals refer to the unique neighborhood as "The Grove."

The tropical oasis of Coconut Grove thrives as Miami’s escape from the stress of city life, and has been the site of many TV and movie productions.  The cast of Marley & Me stayed at our hotel during their filming, and we were steps away from footage of Wild Things and Meet the Fockers.
