Why You Should Go...

Several days a week, during the months of March through December, visitors gather on the platform of Blue Ridge's historic train depot waiting patiently to board the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway (BRSR) train. Built in 1905, the train depot is nestled between two rows of quaint storefronts, including antique shops, art galleries, specialty boutiques, coffee shops and eateries.

After passengers board the train and settle into their seats, the train begins its picturesque journey along the Toccoa River heading toward the sister cities of McCaysville and Copperhill. During a two-hour layover passengers have time to eat, shop, and take photos of loved ones.

In addition to regular train rides throughout the year, the railroad offers several holiday-themed events such as the Easter Eggpress, Firecracker Special, Pumpkin Express, Santa Express, and New Year's Eve trains. From very young children, to couples and senior citizens, everyone can find a ride to fit their interests.
