Kaposia Landing can be accessed using the vehicular bridge located at Concord Street and Bryant Avenue, or by the regional trail access via the pedestrian bridge at the Simon's Ravine Trailhead located at 1308 North Concord Street.

In 2017, five new athletic fields for softball and baseball opened in addition to a centrally-located concession and restroom building on the north end of the park.

The dog park requires an annual license.

Kaposia Landing is the site of a former construction/demolition landfill known as Port Crosby. Funded by Minnesota bonding bills in 2004 and 2006, rehabilitation included capping the landfill and stabilizing nearly a mile of Mississippi River shoreline.
