Why You Should Go...
Kaposia Landing is an 85-acre park named after a Dakota village that was at this site. The park contains about two miles of trails for biking and walking on the South Saint Paul Riverfront Trail. The park also has a pavilion and picnic shelter, picnicking, restrooms, playground, softball field, tennis courts, volleyball, ice skating, and a 6.5-acre dog park.
The North Urban Regional Trail connects Kaposia Landing with the Big River Regional Trail in Lilydale Regional Park. Looking north from the river you can see the skyline from downtown St. Paul, but as you continue south the city view disappears and gives way to natural floodplain forests, islands, backwaters, and some of the most diverse birdlife found anywhere in the park.
