Insider Info

LSC is busy with morning school trips in May and early June. Consider arriving after lunchtime when they are departing.

Planetarium shows often sell out during holiday periods and over weekends. Reserve ahead at LSC.org.

When you arrive, ask at the Welcome Desk for any free events, classes, demonstrations, or animal presentations that require sign-ups.

Fun Facts

The Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium projector can display more hues than the human eye can perceive – over 281 trillion individual colors.

For a full day itinerary, visit LSC - then catch the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It’s right down the road in Liberty State Park, and has shorter lines and easier parking than the NYC ferry dock.

LSC houses hundreds of exotic animals like naked mole rats, tiny tamarin monkeys, and colorful poison dart frogs.
