Enjoy a truly unique experience every time you tour the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum. The collection of historic railroad equipment, including over twenty steam locomotives, is perfectly framed inside an 18 stall roundhouse, the first of its kind built in North America since the 1950’s, along with a fascinating back shop facility where much of the mechanical work is done.

Guests are guided through the working facility so they can experience not only the history of the collection but also witness the restoration work being done around them. The Museum offers various kinds of tours and programs throughout the summer that are geared towards different interests and age groups, so there is a tour that's perfect for everyone.

If you’re lucky, you may even spot Felix our fuzzy, feline mascot on your tour!

Guided tours depart the Visitor Center at 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 2:00 pm.

It is suggested that visitors use the directions provided on the website when planning a trip. Navigation systems and/or online directions may take less direct routes.

Purchasing tickets through the website is the best way to ensure that you are able to get on a tour; walk-in tickets are available at the door but there is limited availability.

At least three of the steam locomotives were used in the making of numerous films including Emperor of the North, Stand by Me, Terror Train, Animal House, and Harry and Walter Go to New York.

Largest privately owned collection of Steam Locomotives in the world.

The Roundhouse was built to house the private collection of the late founder, Jerry Joe Jacobson, and was first opened to the public in the summer of 2019.
