Insider Info

Most visitors stay for three-to-four hours. Bring water and a lunch if planning to stay for several hours.

The marsh only has a few bugs due to the open area and the vast presence of bug predators, such as birds, dragonflies, and frogs. Bring insect repellant only if needed.

Come with sunscreen and a hat to protect yourself from the sun in the marsh's many open areas. Dragonflies also like to land on hats.

Fun Facts

The ravens living in Eco-Odyssée have learned to imitate the electronic sounds of some cellphone ringtones. In fact, they have developed their own rare accent.

A lot of wild animals live together at Eco-Odyssée. Beavers, otters, muskrats, great blue herons, and other large animals can often be seen eating, walking, or chasing their prey. Keep an eye out for otters walking on land and chasing fish, frogs, and even ducks.

Filmmakers from around the globe come to observe Eco-Odyssée as a perfect example of cohabitation between humans and beavers. David Suzuki interviewed owner Michel Leclair, while some videographers have captured the dazzling routes of the water maze.
