Why You Should Go...
Love old cars? The Newport Car Museum is a place designed to wow people, whether they are car lovers or not.
An ever-changing private collection of 85+ cars occupies six expansive galleries (Corvettes, Mopars, World Cars, Fin Cars, Ford/Shelbys, and American Muscle Cars) and occasional Pop-Up Exhibits (currently Porsche).
Cars are displayed on platforms and turntables with no barrier ropes, so no detail goes unnoticed by the most curious observers. Staged under theatrical lights, the cars are surrounded by specially commissioned artwork and seating areas that strike the senses with curvaceous shapes of chairs and sofas from a significant collection of Mid-Century Modern furniture.
All the while, piped-in music pays homage to the more than eight decades – from the 1950s to the 21st Century – of automotive history represented by the exhibits.

Fun Facts
Car club visits are regular occurrences and are publicized so that visitors can coordinate and see some of their favorite marques in the giant parking lot, where parking is always free.
The second weekend of every month (occasionally rescheduled) is reserved for “Hoods Up” when every engine is revealed on every car. Visitors love seeing what makes the collection rock, rumble and roar.
You’ll be pleased to know the Museum has won tons of awards, including USA Today’s “Top 10 Best New Attraction” when it first opened in 2017 and in 2021 – four years later with a collection that has doubled in size – Tripadvisor’s “Top 10% of Attractions Worldwide” based on amazing reviews.
