Speaker Dr. Brian Matthew Jordan is Associate Professor of Civil War History and Chair of the Department of History at Sam Houston State University. He is the author or editor of five books on the Civil War era, including Marching Home: Union Veterans and Their Unending Civil War, which was a finalist (one of three runners-up) for the 2016 Pulitzer Prize in History.

    Rockin’ the Revolution is a rock concert-based event with food trucks, beer, and live music! Held on the grounds of Fort Laurens, visitors can tour the museum, listen to many eras of rock music played by live bands and enjoy local food and beer from Lockport Brewery. Bring a chair or blanket and spend the day listening to some great local artists and music. All proceeds benefit education, outreach and maintenance of Fort Laurens Museum.
