The House of the Seven Gables constitutes its own national historic district on The National Register of Historic Places. Tours and performances last approximately 30—40 minutes and take place on multiple levels in 17th-and 18th-century period homes. Visitors are standing, walking or climbing stairs during these experiences.

Guided tours are offered periodically throughout the day, last tour begins at closing. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

Audio and written translations of the tour are available in Brazilian Portuguese, Cantonese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, and Spanish.

The house of the Seven Gables is one of the oldest known timber framed mansions in North America. 

The Staffordshire china pattern, available in the Museum Store, has been sold at The Gables for over a century.
