Many gardens have planted native to their countries of origin. The Turkish Garden, for example, is full of tulips in the spring, as tulips originated in Turkey
The tallest statues in the park are of Gandhi in the Indian Garden and the writers Goethe and Schiller in the German Garden.
The Cultural Gardens feature events throughout the year; in June, the Hungarian Garden hosts a Franz Liszt concert and Opera in the Italian Garden (also featuring ballet) takes place in July. The African American Garden has a Juneteenth celebration.
