Completed in 1915, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is the former home of F.A. Seiberling (co-founder of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.) and his family. The Seiberling family lived at Stan Hywet for 40 years; in 1957, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens opened as a house museum and country estate.
Akron’s oldest historic landmark, the 64,500 sq. ft. Manor House, is one of the finest examples of Tudor Revival architecture in America and the sixth-largest home in the U.S. open to the public. The estate also includes 70 acres of historic gardens and grounds, the Corbin Conservatory, the Gate Lodge, and the Carriage House — where you can enjoy a snack or buy a memento in Molly’s Shop & Café.
Stan Hywet is open April – December, Tuesday-Sunday with seasonal special events and exhibits.
