Fun Facts

The boat Gansett was built in 1969 in Cranberry Isle, Maine, as a lobster boat that fished between Newport, RI, and Maine.

Del’s Lemonade was started in 1948 in Cranston, RI. The frozen lemonade idea originated in Naples, Italy when the DeLucia great grandfather would carry snow up to a cave in the winter, insulate it with straw and then use it to make the frozen lemonade in the summer months.

Ganset departs from the old Ferry Landing dock. In 1873, the Newport to Jamestown ferry was the first ferry in the country.
