The Howard Finster Vision House is the Georgia site where Finster, a former preacher from Alabama, says he received a divine calling to paint religious art in 1976. The museum holds more than 450 of his works. Finster, a self-taught outsider artist, used tractor enamel to cover nearly every surface with colorful, scripture-filled images, including subjects ranging from Elvis to end-times visions. Visitors arrange a guided tour in advance by contacting the museum, and each guest receives a black and white Finster print.
