2892 Drinkwater Road · Duncan, BC
The BC Forest Discovery Centre is a 100-acre open-air museum park on Drinkwater Road in Duncan, on traditional Quw'utsun territory, telling the story of British Columbia's forest industry. Visitors ride the operating narrow-gauge railway, walk forest and marsh trails known for bird watching, and tour heritage buildings including a 1930s logging camp, a Ranger Station exhibit and the newer Forest Forever exhibit on modern forestry. The centre opens Thursday to Monday, 10 am to 4:30 pm, from early April through September, and returns for Halloween Train and Christmas Express evenings in October and late November to December.
General museums guidance
Habits that pay off across this whole category, not rules for this one venue. Always check the official site for the specifics.
Check the special exhibition separately
Touring shows usually carry their own ticket and their own opening hours, listed apart from general admission.
Look for the free window
Many museums run community days, member evenings, or discounted late openings. It is worth a look before you pay full price.
Travel light through the door
Large bags and backpacks often have to go to a coat check, and lines for it move slowly at opening.
Weekday mornings beat weekend afternoons
School groups clear out by early afternoon midweek, while weekends stay busy from late morning on.
