About Bell Rock Memorial Park

A public green space bordered by Main, Wigglesworth, Meridan and Ellis Streets. Its western portion marks where the town's first two Congregational meeting houses once stood. The park holds a Civil War statue by Bela Pratt, called The Flag Defenders, along with a World War II memorial. Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. laid out the park in 1910, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
