Ride the Blue Line from Boston to swim, stroll the boulevard and catch the summer sand sculpting festival on America's first public beach.
Revere Beach Boulevard, Revere, MA 02151 · Revere, MA
Revere Beach opened on July 12, 1896 as the first public beach in the United States, and today the state runs it as Revere Beach Reservation. The sand stretches over three miles along Revere Beach Boulevard, about five miles north of downtown Boston. The MBTA Blue Line stops right at the beach, which helps because street parking has a four-hour limit. Each summer the International Sand Sculpting Festival brings artists from around the world. Dogs are not allowed from April to mid-September.
