About Chastain Memorial Park

Chastain Park covers 268 acres in north Atlanta and is the city's second-largest park. It opened in 1940 as North Fulton Park, built with WPA help, and still has the golf course, horse park and hillside amphitheater from that era. A paved PATH trail of about 3.9 miles circles the park and golf course, and there are tennis courts, ball fields, a pool and a new playground. The conservancy hosts free family events through the year.
