About Commemorative Air Force Airbase Georgia Warbird Museum

The museum at CAF Airbase Georgia centers on fully restored, operational warplanes, including a P-51D Mustang that was the first aircraft the Commemorative Air Force acquired. Its collection also includes a Douglas SBD-5 dive bomber, a Bell P-63 Kingcobra, an LT-6D spotter aircraft, a PT-19A trainer that instructed Tuskegee Airmen, and a Boeing N2S Stearman. Two aircraft, a Corsair and a Thunderbolt, are under restoration. A display case holds a ten-foot model of the USS Enterprise, wartime toys, uniforms, flight gear, aircraft engines, a bomber nose turret, and a Link Trainer. The museum is staffed by volunteers and funded mainly by donations, and an expansion with more hangar space and education areas is planned.
