The Flatiron Building fills a triangular block where Broadway crosses Fifth Avenue, with its narrow northern tip facing 23rd Street. Designed by Daniel Burnham and opened in 1902, it rises 22 stories and 307 feet behind a facade of limestone and glazed terra cotta, and its tip is only 6.5 feet wide. It is a New York City landmark and a National Historic Landmark. Its upper floors are being converted to condominiums, so you take it in from the street and the nearby plazas.
