About Highland Park Village

Highland Park Village opened in 1931 at the southwest corner of Mockingbird Lane and Preston Road in the town of Highland Park, and it was the first self-contained shopping center in America. Architects Marion Fooshee and James Cheek designed it after its developers studied buildings in Spain, Mexico and California, and it became a National Historic Landmark in 2000. Today the open-air plaza holds luxury names such as Chanel, Hermès, Dior, Cartier and Harry Winston, plus restaurants including Café Pacific and Bistro 31.
