Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park

25 Lewis and Clark Caverns Rd · Whitehall, MT

Why you should go…

Lewis and Clark Caverns became Montana's first state park in 1938, protecting caves formed in Madison Limestone. Guided tours are the only way in. The Classic Cave Tour covers two miles in about two hours and descends more than 500 stairs, while the shorter Paradise Tour follows a mostly flat route. Above ground the 3,015-acre park has a visitor center, a campground and cabins, and trails for hiking and biking.
