The National Arts Centre is at 1 Elgin Street in downtown Ottawa, beside the Rideau Canal and near the National War Memorial and Confederation Park. Its programs include the NAC Orchestra, English, French and Indigenous Theatre, dance and popular music, staged in Southam Hall, the Babs Asper Theatre, the Azrieli Studio and the Fourth Stage. The public lobbies are open from 8 am until the last show ends, and several events such as family story sessions and craft markets are free. The canal-side restaurant, 1 Elgin, serves meals with variable hours.
