Injured, ill and orphaned wildlife are treated and released, while more than sixty resident animals that cannot return to the wild, including bald eagles, owls, hawks, ravens, turkey vultures, turtles and black bears, live in public viewing enclosures with conservation exhibits. The grounds are fully accessible, dogs are not permitted, and the centre opens 9 am to 4:30 pm daily except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Feeding times, keeper talks, and shows run on a posted timetable that changes day to day.
The first hour is the quietest
Queues build through late morning and peak after lunch, so an early start buys you the shortest waits.
Budget past the ticket price
Parking, lockers, strollers, and food inside the gates are common extras worth planning for.
