About Richards Park

Richards Park sits on the west side of the Flat River in Lowell and is bounded by Hudson, Spring, Lincoln Lake, and Elm streets. Originally deeded to the city in 1855, it grew into a well-used playground and picnic spot that also hosted small softball games. The city renovated it in 1983 using funds from the Solomon S. Lee Fund, adding berms, trees, and upgraded play equipment. It remains a grassy, quiet place for summer leisure and safe play for children. In winter, it has gently sloped sledding areas for kids and a small outdoor ice rink. Visitors park on the neighboring streets.
