Saanich Municipal Hall

770 Vernon Ave · Victoria, BC

Why you should go…

The District of Saanich is a municipality of about 118,000 people wrapping around the north side of Victoria on southern Vancouver Island, and its Municipal Hall on Vernon Avenue is the district's public office. Visitors come to Saanich for its parks and shoreline: the summit trails of Mount Douglas Park (PKOLS), the viewpoints of Mount Tolmie, Cadboro-Gyro Park and the beaches of Cadboro Bay and Cordova Bay. The district also runs several recreation centres and a golf course. Municipal Hall is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Good to know

General sightseeing guidance

Habits that pay off across this whole category, not rules for this one venue. Always check the official site for the specifics.

  • The forecast is part of the ticket

Haze, low cloud, and rain flatten a view. Clear-day visits are worth rearranging your plans for.

  • Golden hour sells out first

Sunset slots at observation decks and cruises are the first to go, so book those further ahead.

  • Dress a layer warmer

It is always breezier up high and out on the water than it feels at street level.

  • Timed entry is common

Plenty of landmarks release tickets in windows rather than at the door, so check before you walk over.
