Tom Brown Park sits in the eastern part of Tallahassee, east of Capital Circle SE, between Mahan Drive and Apalachee Parkway. The city describes it as its premier place to play, offering baseball and softball fields, tennis and racquetball courts, playgrounds, open lawns, wooded trails, a pump track, and a dog park. It also hosts the city's annual Fourth of July fireworks show. The park was dedicated on January 30, 1977, and honors Thomas Irvin Brown, Jr., a former Leon County Commissioner and high school coach.
