The von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort is a 2,600-acre mountain resort on the Stowe land the singing von Trapp family bought in 1942, the family whose story inspired The Sound of Music. The Austrian-style lodge has four restaurants serving farm-to-table food, and the property is a working farm with maple syrup and Scottish Highland cattle. You can ski cross-country trails in winter, bike in summer and drink lagers at the von Trapp Bierhall.
