The Wisconsin Maritime Museum sits in the Lake Michigan shipbuilding city of Manitowoc and preserves and teaches about the maritime history of the Great Lakes and Wisconsin. Its flagship attraction is the USS Cobia, a World War II submarine visitors can tour, with guided tours of about 45 minutes and self-guided visits using a borrowable audio tour device. The museum also runs lighthouse tours, a rooftop bar, overnight stays aboard the submarine, and school and group programs. Free parking is offered on several sides of the building. The USS Cobia was away for maintenance and listed as unavailable until mid-October on the museum's website.
