The hiking trails are open year-round during normal hours of operation and general admission applies. Beech Creek Members have access to the grounds every day from dawn to dusk.

Beech Creek Gardens is named after the headwater tributary of the Mahoning River known as Beech Creek, which runs through the woodlands on the site.

Each year, Beech Creek tags dozens of monarch butterflies and tracks their migration. Visitors can assist in tagging the monarchs on the annual Butterfly Release Day in September.

    Tour the Dr. Levi Lamborn Carnation Museum which pays homage to Ohio’s state flower, the red carnation. The museum is a historically accurate rendition of the mid-1800’s conservatory that Dr. Levi Lamborn used for breeding the scarlet carnation. Inside the conservatory are historical artifacts and interactive displays illustrating the extraordinary life of Dr. Levi Lamborn and the history of the scarlet carnation. Children also enjoy free hands-on make & take crafts!
