SSR will begin running for its 28th year in 2020 on the part of the old Hamilton and Northwestern Railway track, which started operation from Hamilton to Barrie and Collingwood in 1879.

This beautiful vintage train is powered by steam locomotive #136, built in Patterson, N.J., 1883, or #703, a GE 70-ton diesel-electric locomotive built in Erie, Penn. in 1948.

The restored coaches are from the 1920s era.

The trip from Tottenham to Beeton and back takes just under one hour through the picturesque Beeton Creek Valley and is narrated by the conductor as the train moves along.

Passengers should arrive 30 minutes prior to departure to allow enough time for parking, ticket purachases, washroom stops and boarding.

Babies under age 3, not occupying a seat, are free.

Parking is available at the station for disabled. Parking, station platform and washrooms are wheelchair accessible, however there are a few stairs to the coaches.

Across the road from the station is a conservation park with swimming, camping and picnicking, and friendly local shops and restaurants are just a block away.

Coaches are fully enclosed and are heated in cold weather.
