Get Spicy in Miami

A Guide To Miami Spice Month

Miami is one of the hottest culinary hubs in the world. With mouthwatering flavors and an endless variety of culture, visitors will never go hungry when visiting this vibrant city. While dining out can sometimes be pricey, the Miami Spice Restaurant Program, a two-month long event, provides an opportunity for locals and guests to dine in some of the trendiest areas in town at an affordable price.  Janel Sierra, Senior Manager of Program Development and Integration at the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau explains why this promotional event is perfect to take advantage of.

What is Miami Spice and what makes it unique?

The Miami Spice Restaurant Program is a two-month long promotion, starting August 1 through September 30, 2017, and showcases Greater Miami and The Beaches’ diverse and ever-evolving culinary scene. During August and September, visitors and residents alike can please their palates at more than 245 participating restaurants at reduced prices ($23 per person for lunch and brunch / $39 per person for dinner) in some of the hottest neighborhoods in town – Miami Beach, Brickell, Downtown, Coral Gables, South Miami, Wynwood, Sunny Isles and Bal Harbour. Prices include an appetizer, entrée and dessert; alcohol, tax, tip and service charges are excluded.

What are some of the events offered and what do they entail?

Each year, we spice up the program with exclusive ticketed Miami Spice dinner previews, chef collaborations and more! Making the program even more enticing, attendees can enjoy exclusive perks from our sponsors – Citibank®, Lyft, Chandon California, Fiji Water, Stella Artois, Terrazas de los Andes, Ketel One Vodka, Don Julio Tequila, Bulleit Bourbon and Zacapa Rum. Make sure to check ILoveMiamiSpice.com for the latest information.

Is this a yearly event, do people travel from all over to visit the restaurants and surrounding events?

Yes, Miami Spice is offered annually during the months of August and September. The program was initially conceptualized to encourage locals to explore the city and venture out to try new restaurants during the slower summer months, but visitors are more than welcome to take advantage of the program.

What are some of the most popular restaurants that participate in this event? What type of food do they serve? What are some of Miami’s specialties?

With over 230 participants this year and 40 restaurants new to the program, there is something for everyone. The full list of participants and menus are available on ILoveMiamiSpice.com.

What makes Miami such a great place to visit?

Miami is incredibly diverse in culture and cuisine, making it one of the best cities to explore!
