Alyeska Resort

1000 Arlberg Ave · Girdwood, AK

Why you should go…

Alyeska is the largest ski area in Alaska, with 73 trails across 1,400 skiable acres and a 300-room hotel at the base. Its aerial tram carries 40 passengers per car from 306 feet to a terminal at 2,334 feet, where an observation deck looks out on mountains and hanging glaciers. At the top you can eat at Seven Glaciers restaurant or visit the museum in the historic Roundhouse, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. In summer the tram runs for sightseers and hikers.
