Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid

1 Bass Pro Dr · Memphis, TN

Why you should go…

This 321-foot pyramid on the Mississippi River opened in 1991 as a sports arena and reopened in 2015 as a Bass Pro Shops megastore. Inside you walk past an indoor swamp with cypress trees, alligator pools and aquariums, plus a bowling alley, restaurants, an archery range and the Ducks Unlimited Waterfowling Heritage Center. A 28-story freestanding elevator climbs to a glass-floored observation deck. Walking in is free, while the elevator ride carries a fee.

General shopping guidance

Habits that pay off across this whole category, not rules for this one venue. Always check the official site for the specifics.

  • Vendor hours are their own thing

Market stalls and independent sellers keep shorter hours than the building around them, and quiet days end early.

  • Bring a tote and a little cash

Smaller sellers do not all take cards, and bags are rarely free.

  • Weekdays browse, weekends buzz

Pick the weekday for a proper look at the shelves and the weekend for the atmosphere.

  • Ask about shipping

If something will not survive the suitcase, plenty of sellers will send it home for you.
