Why you should go…

Belle Isle is a 985-acre island park in the Detroit River, reached from the city by the MacArthur Bridge and run as a Michigan state park. You can visit the Belle Isle Aquarium under its green glass-tiled Albert Kahn ceiling, walk through the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, swim at the beach or bike the 5.4-mile loop. Walkers and cyclists enter free, while cars need a Michigan Recreation Passport.
