Cedar Point sits on a Lake Erie peninsula and first welcomed guests in 1870, which makes it the second-oldest operating amusement park in the country. You come for the coasters: 18 of them, including Millennium Force and Steel Vengeance, among 66 rides in all. Four children's areas feature Snoopy and the PEANUTS gang, and Cedar Point Shores Waterpark sits next door. Four hotels, three marinas and a lakefront campground let you stay on the point.
