Cod is a Gato-class fleet submarine that ran seven Pacific war patrols in World War II, and she was never cut open for tourists. You board the way her sailors did, down vertical ladders and through the original hatches, threading past torpedo tubes, stacked bunks, the galley, and the control room. A National Historic Landmark moored on the downtown lakefront, the boat sits about a block east of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, making it an easy add to any North Coast Harbor visit.
