A 3.5-acre garden in Weatherford's Historic District that blends Chinese and English garden styles, once the estate of portrait painter Douglas Chandor.

Chandor Gardens sits on about 3.5 acres in Weatherford's Historic District, roughly 25 miles west of Fort Worth. The grounds were once the private estate of portrait painter Douglas Chandor, whose sitters included several famous world leaders. The design mixes elements of Chinese architecture with the look of an English formal garden, and visitors can wander winding paths past one feature after another. The property is also a popular spot for weddings, events, and portrait or bridal photography, with separate fees for photo sessions. Public hours are limited, and the mansion interior opens only on certain days each month.
