About Chief Logan State Park

Chief Logan State Park spans nearly 4,000 acres in the hills north of Logan, West Virginia. The park sits close to trail access for the Hatfield-McCoy system, so it suits visitors who want an overnight stay after a day outdoors. Its campground is open during the warmer months, weather permitting, and campers can book sites online, by phone, or at the office. Each summer, the park's Liz Spurlock Amphitheater hosts outdoor dramas, including a play about Shawnee people who once lived where the town of Logan now stands. The park takes its name from Chief Logan, a Mingo leader from the region before the American Revolution.
