Dole Plantation has welcomed the public since 1989 at its visitor center in Wahiawa. The Pineapple Express is a two-mile, 20-minute narrated train ride through a working plantation, and the Pineapple Garden Maze, named the world's largest maze by Guinness World Records in 2008, hides eight stations to find. The Plantation Garden Tour passes through eight mini-gardens of crops grown on the North Shore. There is no admission fee for the visitor center, so you can stop just for the shop and Dole Soft Serve.

Book the time slot, not just the ticket
Timed entry is now the norm at big-draw attractions, and online tickets are often cheaper than the gate.
Grab the daily schedule on arrival
Feeding times, keeper talks, and shows run on a posted timetable that changes day to day.
The first hour is the quietest
Queues build through late morning and peak after lunch, so an early start buys you the shortest waits.
Budget past the ticket price
Parking, lockers, strollers, and food inside the gates are common extras worth planning for.
