I-94 Exit 72 south to Regent · Regent, ND
The Enchanted Highway is a 32-mile drive from Exit 72 on I-94 near Gladstone south to Regent, lined with huge scrap metal sculptures by local artist Gary Greff, who began the project in 1989. Geese in Flight, 110 feet tall and 150 feet wide, stands at the interstate and is visible from the highway. Farther on you pass Deer Crossing, Grasshoppers in the Field, Fisherman's Dream, Pheasants on the Prairie, Teddy Roosevelt Rides Again and the Tin Family. Regent has a gift shop.
General sightseeing guidance
Habits that pay off across this whole category, not rules for this one venue. Always check the official site for the specifics.
The forecast is part of the ticket
Haze, low cloud, and rain flatten a view. Clear-day visits are worth rearranging your plans for.
Golden hour sells out first
Sunset slots at observation decks and cruises are the first to go, so book those further ahead.
Dress a layer warmer
It is always breezier up high and out on the water than it feels at street level.
Timed entry is common
Plenty of landmarks release tickets in windows rather than at the door, so check before you walk over.
