The Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum in Buffalo, Wyoming preserves the collection of pharmacist Theodore James Gatchell, who opened Buffalo's first drugstore in 1900 and became a trusted friend of the region's Native American communities. The museum's three interconnected buildings hold artifacts from cowboys, lawmen, settlers and Native Americans, including guns, war bonnets, medicine bags and tools, alongside exhibits on the Johnson County Cattle War and local Basque heritage. It received the National Medal for Museum and Library Service in 2023.
