Marineland opened in 1938 south of St. Augustine as an oceanarium built to film sea life, and scenes from Creature from the Black Lagoon were shot here. Today it is a nonprofit dolphin center owned by the Georgia Aquarium since 2011. General admission is $20.25 and covers daily talks, feeds, tours and a training demonstration, each about 15 to 25 minutes, plus views of the dolphin swim programs, which cost extra. It opens Wednesday to Sunday and the last ticket is sold at 2 pm.
