Known as the Hub of Western Colorado, Montrose is the main basecamp for visitors to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and Gunnison Gorge, with nearby hiking, rafting and rock climbing. In winter it is a waypoint for skiers heading to Telluride and Crested Butte.
