Oglebay Park began as Waddington Farm, the estate industrialist Earl W. Oglebay left to the city of Wheeling in 1926, and it opened to the public in 1928. It holds the Oglebay Good Zoo, the only AZA-accredited zoo in West Virginia, and a mansion museum built in 1846. You can also golf, hike, swim and fish. In winter the Festival of Lights spreads displays across more than 300 acres along a six-mile drive.
