About Rotary Botanical Gardens

Janesville's Rotary clubs started these gardens in 1988 on the site of an old sand and gravel quarry, and today they cover 20 acres. Themed areas include Japanese, Scottish, rose, Italian and English cottage gardens, a fern and moss garden, prairie and woodland plantings, and a sunken garden entered through a stone arch from the old Parker Pen headquarters. Adult admission is $10, seniors pay $7, youth 6 to 15 pay $5 and children under 6 get in free. In late November and December the gardens open on select evenings for the Holiday Light Show, which began in 1996.
