About Sarasota Jungle Gardens

Sarasota Jungle Gardens grew out of a swampy banana grove that newspaperman David Breed Lindsay turned into botanical gardens in the 1930s. More than 10 acres of plantings include bunya-bunya and strangler figs, royal palms and a large Norfolk Island pine. The flamingos roam free, and you can buy food to feed them by hand. Bird, reptile and animal shows run through the day starting at 11 am. Adult tickets are $24.99 and children 4 to 12 pay $14.99.
