Why you should go…
Skydive Las Vegas flies first-time jumpers out of the Jean Aviation Sport Center on South Las Vegas Boulevard in Jean, south of the city. On a tandem jump you exit at 12,500 feet strapped to an instructor, free fall for 30 to 45 seconds at around 120 mph, then ride the parachute down for 5 to 7 minutes. From the air you can spot the Strip, Mt. Charleston, Red Rock Canyon and the Valley of Fire. No experience is needed, and a free shuttle runs from the Strip.
