465 Belleville St · Victoria, BC
Tally-Ho Carriage Tours has run horse-drawn tours of Victoria since its first stage left on May 9, 1903, growing out of the Victoria Transfer Co. of 1890. Carriages seat up to six guests and depart from the burgundy kiosk at Belleville and Menzies Streets beside the Legislative Buildings, with narrated routes of 15 to 90 minutes through James Bay, along the Salish Sea waterfront and into Beacon Hill Park. Prices are per carriage, from CAD 85 for the 15-minute ride to CAD 450 for the 90-minute Premier Tour. Hours vary by season; the company runs weekends only in January and February and is closed in November.
General tours guidance
Habits that pay off across this whole category, not rules for this one venue. Always check the official site for the specifics.
Confirm the meeting point
It is often a corner, a lobby, or a dock rather than the address you searched for. Check it the night before.
Small groups fill first
In high season the intimate departures sell out well before the big-bus options do.
Ask how much is on foot
Knowing how much of the route is walking, standing, or outdoors tells you what to wear and carry.
Read the weather policy
Cancellation windows and rain rules vary by operator, and they are easier to find before you pay than after.
