Why you should go…

Taos Ski Valley is a ski resort in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, founded in 1955 by Ernie and Rhoda Blake and run under a Forest Service permit in Carson National Forest. It began with one lift and one run, Snakedance, and today the Kachina lift tops out at 12,481 feet. In summer you can ride lift-served mountain bike trails, hike, take a scenic lift ride or a UTV tour, or try the guided via ferrata. The Blake, the slopeside lodge, has rooms, dining and a spa.
